My love for unicorns started very young; I didn't care much for dolls or barbies, but I LOVED My Little Ponies. I had quite the collection and spent most of my play time with them. That love never quite went away, but as I got older, I felt I needed to put away "childish" things, as we all so often are taught.
So when I discovered withcraft and paganism as a young angry teen, there was no room for the whimsy and joy of the Unicorn. I was of course a very Serious Witch™ and working with unicorns or practicing unicorn magic did not fit that style view.
When I took a good hard look at my path and practice a few years ago, I found that the unicorns (and the Fae/Fair Folk), were still very much calling to me. And this time, I heeded the call. I started reaching back, reading a lot about other's practices, about the mythology that I had loved so dearly when I was younger. Reaching out to them for healing, for comfort, for strength. I am so grateful that I have them in my life. And on this shrine, I would like to tell you all more about them.
